Anyone age 65 and older subject to an adjusted gross income limitation can freeze the assessed value of your property (not your taxes) as long as you have homestead exemption.

If you are a disabled veteran with a service-connected disability rating of 50% or greater as determined by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs; or by a member of the armed forces or Louisiana National Guard and either killed in action, missing in action, or prisoner of war for longer than 90 days; or by a person who is permanently and totally disabled as determined by a final non-appealable judgment of a court or as certified by a state or federal administrative agency with authority to do so then you can also freeze your assessed value if you meet the income requirement.
